Dear Phil Allison:
Played through the whole thing [I
think].
Favorite bits:
1. The burial grounds. Atmospheric. Learn
the hard way. Really scary. 2. The little bubbles that float to the sky when
the enchanted barrier is disabled. 3. The placement of the tomb entrance
in the ravine. Very dramatic perspective. 4. VERY hard. I played with a
character who had finished the main quest, and the main quest only, no
cheating... but only got yo 10th level, and I totally got my butt kicked.
VERY often had to cheat to move forward. Ended up at 13th level. 5. Dwemer
puzzles. 6. Trial of Doors 7. Good use of creatures.
Some
suggestions: 1. Give each of the characters their own personal Greeting 5. As
it is, when playing post-endgame, EVERYONE -- even the folks inside House
Sirillius -- says exactly the same thing. [We didn't do much special handling
for dialog after the main quest was completed, but we wanted everyone to at
least mention the PC's triumph. Since you specifically recommend playing
after the main quest is complete, test it out with such a character. It's a
bit distracting.] 2. The high lock level in Elis' basement feels like a
red herring. There are also some chests in the Sirillius cellars with high
lock levels, but with cheap stuff in them. It doesn't seem logical that these
should have such high lock levels, especially with the standard low lock
scores you see on the mainland. 3. There's a distracting typo: Ancetsor
L'Dara Silillius. [Actually, there's a number of minor typos here and there.
I sahould have kept track, but I was having too much fun.] 4. The
artifacts with constant effect enchantments -- they can't be used. But you
probably know that, right? You just put enchantments on them so they'd look
appropriately magical? 5. A couple of crates in cellars are stacked at
impossible angles. With every other detail so well managed elsewhere, it was
surprising and distracting.
In general: Brilliant. I have
recommended this to all my pals. You have put us to shame.
"Well, I put a
lot of hours into this, but not so sure it was worth the time."
I can
see how much time you put into this.
And it is TOTALLY worth
it.
Thanks for giving me a chance to PLAY Morrowind instead of work on it
for a change.
